I was in the ER watching TV when I heard the news Keith Emerson died. He was one of my hero's when I was a teenager. ELP was the first concert my wife and I went to back in 1978 at the Bay Front Center in St. Pete FL. I will never forget the piano and Keith rise up off the stage while he was playing it and started to swirl head over heel. What a great show he put on. Songs like "Lucky Man" "Just Take a Pebble", "Pictures on Exhibition" and the Tarsus Album I will never forget. RIP Keith and thank you for the memories. Still Totally ADD

Jehovahs Witnesses and the Curse of Music.
by donny injehovahs witnesses and the curse of music.. .
i was inspired to write this after listening to a recent podcast of the thinking atheist by seth andrews.
as many of you know, seth was a devout christian who not only loved contemporary christian music but was one of the hosts of a popular morning show on kxoj in tulsa, oklahoma in the 1990s.

James Brown, I went to a lot of the Rowdies games in Tampa back in the day. The song went kind of like this. (The rowdies are here and rowdies are there they kick the ball around. The rowdies are here and rowdies are there then they fall to the ground, All the rowdies, All the rowdies they are a kick in the ground) I think that is how the song went. LOL What great memories those are. Still Totally ADD -

HappyDad I am glad you are enjoying FL. It does have some of the best eating places I know of. I just can't take the heat anymore. Working in that hot sun down there for over 40 years has taken it's toll. mrquik we just may come your way in Aug. Garlic is one of the crops I want to start growing for a living. Thank you all for the welcome back to the site. I have been lurking on it but just to busy to post. Still Totally ADD -

JWdaughter the KH in this area is only 2 miles down the road from us. Can't wait for the first ones to come. But I think that will happen in the spring. Right now we have about 20 inches of snow on the ground. Heaven I can't wait for spring also. I brought my gardening boxes with me so I can teach gardening classes. We have Chautauque Institution just 10 miles from us. This is where all the rich people from the big cities come during the summer. A great place to draw people from for our herb and garden classes. We now live in "This Old House" LOL. Still Totally ADD -

It has been along time since I have posted something. My wife and I have just moved to NY just west of Jamestown. Our log house in PA was so far from everything it was costing us to much time and money. We found a old farm house on 2 acres that was built in1843. The frame work is made of hand hewn post and beam construction. It is so neat. The reason for the post is on the main drag in Lakewood there is a realty office that has on its sign (JW.org the most translated site). We both just about fell over when we saw it. My wife said to me (will I guess we won't be using that Realtor for anything). At any rate I thought that was so funny to see that. I just love old houses and looking forward to renovating this house. We are doing just fine. Our children still have nothing to do with us. But only time will tell on that one. We do have a new grandson we found out about on my son's facebook. For all old and new members keep up the fine fight. Still Totally ADD -

Is the Borg winding down printing altogether?
by slimboyfat inthe thread about magazines stopping distribution in india reminded me of a recent conversation.
a local brother said he asked for a copy of the new organisation book for publishers.
the elder told the brother to print it out if he wanted a physical copy.

NewYork44M the problem they had with that high-speed printer was they could only run it half speed. Because no one knew how to operate it full speed. That is what I was told when I went on a tour at Wallkill back in 2004. Still Totally ADD -

WT Society SEC Records : Hedge Funds, Cayman Islands, Financial Losses - Links
by flipper inso my wife and i were curious so i researched some financial links and found records indicating that the wt society has been operating at a loss since the year 2012. as you read the links it shows a loss of 10 million $$$ in 2012, about 16 million $$$ in 2013, and a whopping loss of 56 million $$$ in 2014 - where the expenditures exceeded the revenues for each of those years in the amount i've mentioned.
also there is a link on this same website with the sec records indicating that the wt society and it's representatives funneled 40 million $$$$ into hedge funds in the cayman islands as early as 2007. if you look online on other sites you can see evidence that indicates the wt society attended hedge fund conferences to look into more shadiness in 2011 and isn't it curious that by 2012 the wt society started showing losses.
anyway here is the link : https://www.watchtowerlies.com/the_watchtower_revenue.html .. feel free to check this link out and other links on that link indicating the cayman island connection.

Hey Flipper,
All those statements are mumbo jumbo to me but it is a perfect example of what sociopaths who run the Wt. do. Still Totally ADD

Elder for 25 years and now a atheist. You did good. All the years I served I was always wishing there was more elders like you. Maybe if there was I would have stayed in and then maybe not. The toll must be hard on you. I know that feeling quite to well. Take care of yourself because there will come a point in your life this will come to a head. At this point you will need to be at the top of your game so you can make the right decisions for yourself and your family. Stay well. Still Totally ADD -
